Nigerians keep winning and giving able representation of the nation at international events. Athletes, musicians, academics, inventors etc. This is the case as the upcoming Mandela 100 Global Citizen Festival has four Nigerian acts on the bill.
The festival, which would feature power couple Jay Z and Beyonce, would also see performances by Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Dbanj and Afrobeat legend Femi Kuti. We haven’t confirmed if Dbanj will be performing as he is presently mourning the loss of his son.
The event is scheduled to hold on the 2nd of December at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg.
A celebration of the 100th posthumous birthday of the apartheid struggle hero and peace-loving former South African President Nelson Mandela, the Festival is collaborating with the House of Mandela to commemorate the birthday of a man who spent the bulk of his adult life preaching peace, justice, equality and fairness to all.

The event was announced by Global Citizen Impact yesterday on Twitter. Other acts billed to grace the event are Pharell Williams, Cassper Nyovest, Sho Madjozi. The event will be hosted by Forest Whitaker, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Naomi Campbell and Tyler Perry while media mogul Oprah Winfrey will deliver a keynote address.

It would be a culmination of the year-long collaboration between the organisers and is free. You can start applying for your tickets from August 21 after signing up on the Global Citizen website.
