Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola has been named the first deputy chancellor of Chrisland university, a newly established institution in Abeokuta, Nigeria.
Professor Chinedum who seem to be setting records is currently changing the popular saying that ‘teachers rewards are gotten in heaven’, following her transition from a lecturer and former dean to a V.C, a position rightly earned by hard work and positive achievements in the academic sector.
Formerly a professor and Dean in pharmacy in the university of Ibadan, she was also the principal investigator of the discovery and drug production center of UI, founded by the MacArthur foundation.
Asides emerging as the first professor of pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacy kinetics in the university of Ibadan, professor chinedum also added other certificates under her belt. She has a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry from Obafemi Awolowo University.
Due to her outstanding contributions and innovations to academics, she became the first female pharmacist to be admitted as a member of the academy of sciences (FAS) in 2011 and the first Nigerian woman to be a member of the African Academy of sciences.
She is a member of several international organizations and one can rightfully say that she is best suited for the job and the correct driving force the school need to excel.
