Two female students will be Nigeria’s representative at the 2015 Certiport Microsoft Specialist and Two female students will be Nigeria’s representative at the 2015 Certiport Microsoft Specialist and Adobe Certified Associate competitions holding in Texas, US.
Miss Aisha Toki of Doregos Private Academy and Miss Afopefoluwa Laja of Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls got the tickets after emerging national winners of the Adobe Certified Associate Photoshop and Microsoft Office Word Specialist Competitions, respectively, in July.
The two will represent Nigeria at the Worldwide Championship which holds from the 9th to the 12 of August 2015.
They will be sponsored by the New Horizons Centre.
According to New Horizons’ school business, Arogundade, the duo will compete with almost half a million other students from all over the world.
They will compete with other national champions from 90 countries with a total of 400,000 participants in Europe, America and Asia,” Arogundade said.
“This will be the fifth year in a row that New Horizons will be sponsoring Nigerian kids to feature in this global ICT competition. Over the past 10 years, we have been at the forefront of repositioning Nigeria through the instrumentality of ICT,” he said.
Participating students will showcase their skills in using the Microsoft Office, Adobe Design programmes.
According to the Certiport website, “the top three winners in the MOS 2013 category will receive scholarship prizes for $7,500, $3,750 and $1,500; the top three winners in the MOS 2010 category will receive scholarship prizes for $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000, respectively.”
