At the wake of 2020, just before the end of the first quarter the world was hit by a pandemic. It has changed our lives and adjusting to the new norms, businesses and companies have had to craft new mechanics to get the economy moving, one of which is work from home.
Much of the world is on lockdown,even in places that aren’t, we are encouraged to work from home.

Well, here are five tips you can use to working effectively and productively from home:
1. Start Your Day Right: Plan your daily schedule and be sure to stick with, start your day early enough and engage yourself in a couple of exercises or yoga, have a filling breakfast and resume to your workstation in elated mood. A well planned day helps to keep track of time and that increases productivity.
2. Select and Set Up Your Gadgets: Working remotely will require that you have all your equipment in good working condition, ensure that the gadgets that would help you achieve the same result as if you were in your office is made available in your home so that your output will be high.
3. Set Ground Rules With People in Your Space: Setting ground rules with other people in your home or who share your space for when you work is important because it will create a conducive work environment for you. If you have family members or loved ones let them understand the discipline you want and set clear rules.
Don’t short-change yourself during breaks, especially your lunch hour, lock yourself out of your computer for 60 minutes. Take breaks so that you can get energised and clear your head, it will definitely help especially when you are stuck in your creative zone.
5. Don’t Be Too Hard on Yourself: The most successful remote employees have a reputation for being extremely disciplined. After all, it takes serious focus to do any full-time office job from an unconventional space. Everyone lets their attention drift sometimes, don’t reprimand yourself too harshly rather concentrate and get back in the work zone.
But most importantly, stay positive and connect with your team members, schedule reports and communicate effectively.
