Liverpool footballing duo, Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane, and Arsenal ace, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang had nothing to separate them in the just concluded race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot Award for the 2018/19 season. As a result of this, they will share the award thereby making each person a recipient of the award.
All three footballers scored 22 goals in the Premier League 2018/19 season and this represents the lowest winning total since the 2010/11 season when Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez shared the Golden Boot with 20 goals each.
Gabon forward Aubameyang, who scored twice after the interval against Burnley at Turf Moor said: “I share this trophy with two other guys I like, great players and African. We are representing Africa, that’s cool.
This would be the first time three Africans would sharing this award after Egypt’s Mohammed Salah won it last season. This season’s winners and their respective countries are:
