These Two Ultimate Fighting Champions Are Making Nigerians Proud

Nigeria has been put on the global radar again, only this time for winning the Welterweight and the Middleweight Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) titles.

Isreal Adesanya and Kamaru Usman are currently championing the martial arts world as Nigeria’s reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) winners.

Adesanya, who is well known as ‘The Last Stylebender’, earned the interim UFC middleweight belt in a an epic, breathtaking five-round bout with American fighter, Kelvin Gastelum in Atlanta, on April 14, 2019.

His victory against the American fighter, Kelvin Gastelum made him the second Nigerian and African to win the UFC Interim Middleweight title.

The first place was claimed by a fellow Nigerian and UFC Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, known as the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’.

He won the mixed-martial arts bout against Tyron Woodley in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he dominated the contest, displaced Tyron with an unanimous decision and victoriously emerged as the winner of the UFC Welter weight championship, 2019.

This is a great feat for Nigeria and Nigerians, with other world fighters have congratulated the Ultimate fighting championship winners for their victories at the 2019 UFC finals.
