Temmy Balogun On A Mission To Train Over 10,000 Nigerian Youths On Digital Skills

The digital and technology industry is fast developing in the world with the introduction of new skills and digital tools, Temmy Balogun who has noticed the trend  took it up to herself to challenge young entrepreneurs, SMEs by offering digital trainings that will help them take advantage of the trend, to  grow  their businesses and fit into the new world.

Temitope Balogun, popularly known as ‘Temmy Balogun’ is aiming to train over 10,000 Nigerian youths on digital skills before 2023 through Espact Academy, a subsidiary of Espact , a Pan African digital company focusing on Entrepreneurs, Talents and Innovations.

Temmy is the Lead Consultant at Espact Academy, and has successfully organised and facilitated online trainings for people from different parts of the world ranging from United States, Canada, London, Nigeria, amongst others and also physical trainings in Lagos and Abuja respectively.

In order to curb the increasing rate of unemployment in Nigeria, Temmy Balogun who is enthusiastic and passionate about impacting lives of youth, launched her digital driven media firm, Espact, to create online contents and tech-driven solutions to help businesses reach their target audience, make sales and become profitable.

Espact is a digital driven media firm currently helping SMEs who are reducing poverty and unemployment by transforming their operations from manual to digital for easy adoption by the youth.

Temmy Balogun discovered that a lot of businesses can cut down a large percentage of their use of latest digital tools and marketing tools including data managements, SEO tools, amongst others.

This prompted her to work with her team to enhance some SMEs’ operations using some digital operations tools.

On 3rd October, 2018, Temmy Balogun got shortlisted amongst the 12 finalists for ‘Youths Connects Africa Award’, in recognition of the economic development impact of her brand by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Nigerian government.

At the United Nations Workshop, she learnt a number of digital skills in addition to her previous knowledge that could help the Nigerian Business community.

So far Temmy Balogun and her team  have trained over 500 youths and entrepreneurs on digital skills.

The  Nigerian entrepreneur once attributed her drive to the inspiration she gets from people who make real impact in their chosen fields, as she revealed what has kept her going forward, in an interview with ‘Women of Rubies’ on Guardian Woman in 2018.

During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, Temmy and her team were able to transform about 45 businesses into digital platforms, in which they operated successfully in the digital space. Those businesses were able to operate online and deliver essential services to their customers regardless of the economic lockdown.

According to Temmy Balogun, she aims to gain more international exposure  and advanced knowledge so as to improve the African business community.

The next batch of training commences in September 2021, and registration is on now at a subsidised rate of N10,000 only. The target is to train at least 250 participants per batch.
