Asisat Oshoala also known as Superzee , a young Nigerian professional footballer,who puts her utmost best in what she loves doing the most, have suceeded in making an international mark of her competence in football  as she is tag the best female footballer of her time.

Born on the 9th of October ,1994, Asisat Lamina Oshoala grew up in Ikorodu,Lagos,Nigeria. She started her footballer career years back after dropping out of school against her parents’ wishes .

Oshoala exhibited her outstanding talent as a forward for Nigeria’s youth teams but made most of her early appearances for the senior national team as an attacking midfielder. She was nicknamed “Seedorf” after male footballer Clarence Seedorf and has also been referred to as “Superzee” by her teammate.

The young energetic footballer who joined Liverpool Ladies on the 23rd of January,2015 have so far received several prestigious awards with the latest as the first ever BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year. The Nigerian forward is the first player to win the new award from the BBC World Service, which is voted for by football fans around the world.

She expressed her feelings about the prestigious award through an interview ;

“I would like to say thank you to the BBC, to my fans around the world and to everyone who voted. I feel very happy and appreciated. It’s a very good thing for me and also motivation for the World Cup. I had a very good 2014 and had the opportunity of going to the under-20s Women’s World Cup with Nigeria and also won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot so I think maybe that added to the reason why people voted for me.”

She was the highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and  was  named best player and second top goalscorer with the Super Falcons team who won the 2014 African Women’s Championship.

In September 2014 Oshoala was made a Member of the Order of the Niger by Former Nigerian President ,Goodluck Jonathan. On 8 June 2015 in Winnipeg, Canada, Oshoala opened her senior FIFA Women’s World Cup account by scoring Nigeria’s second goal in a 3–3 draw with Sweden.

So far,Asisat have been being on top of her game and has made us proud within and outside the nation as Nigerians.
