Hello Africans!
Trust your weekend is going well?
Today we are sharing with you some interesting information about Forbes Africa Person of the Year.
Guess what? the award was given to a female! Yippe I am so happy because the view of some part of the world about women isnt stopping us!
Women are and will continue to break records and make history.
The Forbes Africa Person of the Year (POY) Award honours excellence in Africa and celebrates “the individual who has had the most influence on events of the year gone by”.
It went to Thuli Madonsela, South Africa’s former anti-corruption public protector. Forbes wrote about Madonsela during the nomination, noting how she “faced death threats in her quest to bring inconsistencies to the fore.”
She beat two African presidents, a fellow South African and a country to emerge the winner for this year.
Can I get some shouts and claps for her??
Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli – known as the bulldozer, Ameenah Gurib, Mauritian president, South African businessman, Michiel le Roux, founder of Capitec Bank, and the people of Rwanda were nominated along with Madonsela.
