South Africa’s Moses Magwaza Bags Wine Service Award As Best Sommelier

A hardworking South African man, Moses Magwaza has just bagged the wine service award at the 2017 Eat Out award ceremony, becoming the country’s best sommelier.

The 36 year old worker at the Restaurant Mosaic bagged this award, beating out other competitors and emerging the best.

More About Moses Magwaza

Born in Kea Zulu natal, Moses started as a Gardner 11 years ago at the renowned restaurant mosaic. He progressed to becoming a porter in the Orient hotel and later a waiter in the afore mentioned restaurant.

He was introduced into the world of wine by the restaurant team and decided to pursue a certificate course at the cape wine academy as well as a brandy course in South Africa, after which he started going on tours in south Africa’s wine lands.

His mentor, French Sommelier Germain Lehodey expressed his delight over the award in an interview.
