Onashile Obafemi Emerges Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors’ New President

Mr Obafemi Onashile has just emerged as the new president of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity surveyors (NIQS).

At an event which held on November 19, Mr Obafemi was sworn into the position at the end of the body’s Biennial Election and General Meeting ( BEGM) which took place in Abuja between November 14 to 18.

Following his election as Deputy President in 2015, in Lagos, it however came as no surprise when Obafemi bagged the prestigious role as he is well known for his positive accomplishments and outstanding resourcefulness as Consultant quantity surveyor.

Mr Onashile’s Achievements

Obafemi holds a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and a Masters degree in Project Management from the Iniversity of Lagos.

He is the group managing partner of console associates limited and also a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The amazing quantity survey was until last month the vice president of the African Association of Quantity surveyors (AAQS).

Untrue testament of his positive achievements and resourcefulness, he had been earlier groomed as the ‘president-in-waiting’ and succeeds QS Mercy Torkwase Lyortyer whose two year term just expired.

In his acceptance speech, he promised to enrich quantity surveyors by creating skill acquisition programmed and trainings that will enable them become more efficient and able to cope with the challenging nature of construction projects.
