Nigeria’s Olufunke Abimbola Receives Queen Elizabeth II’s MBE Award

Nigeria’s Olufunke Abimbola-Akindolie has just received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award from Queen Elizabeth II owing to her amazing efforts towards the diversification of the legal profession.

She was recognised by the queen on her 91st birthday honors list and clinched this award,which was presented to her by the Prince of Wales at an Investiture Ceremony I at Buckingham Palace on the 7th of December,2017.

Olufunke received this honor based on her outstanding service and desire to diversify the legal profession and also on her fervent desire to educate and enlighten the younger generationabout the legal profession.

The UK based mother of one has received many award as well as international recognition in her career. In 2015, she won the Gender Role Model award, Career Woman of the year award, Outstanding woman in Professional services award and inspiring member of the year award.
In 2016, she was awarded the outstanding Diva and international Diva of color.

She is currently a full time solicitor and senior leader for one of the world’s largest biotech company and is the most senior black lawyer working in the UK pharmaceutical industry.

She was recently admitted as a fellow of the royal society of arts, based on her positive impact, a trait which was recognised by the queen and was awarded rightfully based on her outstanding service to the British society.
