Nigeria’s Alice Oluwafemiayo Breaks Record, Wins World Para Powerlifting Women Championship

It feels great to start the week celebrating Nigeria’s Alice oluwafemiayo who just won the world para powerlifting women’s championship, bagging the gold medal at the women’s up to 86 kg championships.

At an event which held in Saturday, December 2, 2017 in Mexico, Oluwafemiayo won after clearing the bar at 140kg. She went further to lift 145kg, on Her fourth attempt at breaking the world record which was previously set by her compatriot Loveline Obiji in 2014.

The hall was full of emotions and excitement as the wonder woman broke the world record, stamping her name on the list of the world’s legendary para powerlifting champions.

“I believe that Nigeria are the best in powerlifting in the world. The first event of the competition and we have a world record already” Feyisetan Are the national coach said.

In an interview, emotionladen oluwafemiayo expressed her joy over the award
” I feel very happy, it was not something I was expecting, I can’t believe I’m the newest world champion”.
