Today on Temmy Balogun’s Blog our spotlight is on Adenola Michael popularly known as Shepherd a.k.a D Shoemaker, a.k.a Mr Orekelewa, a talented musician and entreprenuer who knows his onions well when it comes to music.

Born in the mid 80s in Lagos, Nigeria, he believes ‘music is a universal tool that penetrates every soul and influences people irrespective of their background, race or kind.’

Shepherd has previously released beautiful songs such as Ise and I love Naija.

His most recent song which he explained in this interview is titled ‘OREKELEWA’ .

Orekelewa is a word popularly used in the Nigerian music industry but to Shepherd the word has a deeper meaning than usually thought.

‘Orekelewa isn’t a mere cliche neither is it just a melodious tune, its a celebration of the beautiful virtues of the African woman.

Orekelewa is a woman with both extrinsic and intrinsic beauty that totally completes her man. She is cheerful, hardworking and loving’ Micheal D Shepherd says.


He rounded up with his advice to all upcoming artistes ‘Love God, love yourself, love people, be creative, be original and be hardworking ‘ Shepherd says.
