We always love to appreciate Nigerian women across different sectors,for their amazing tenacity and hardworking spirit.
One of the above described women is Mrs Sandra Aguebor who bagged inspirational women award at the 17th Annual National women conference on October 24. The award was presented to her by the wife of the vice president of Nigeria, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo.
Sandra , a native of Benin city is the first female mechanic in Nigeria. Her love for all things auto mobile grew at age 13 and had since defied all odds into achieving her dreams, becoming a force to be reckoned with.
The opportunity came when she started working for the bendel transport service, now known as Edo line in Benin city, as the officer in charge of maintenance and repairs, before deciding to be on her own.
Despite initial disapproval from her immediate family, she forged on relentlessly, using a small patch of land covered with cardboard for ‘shade’ as her first garage. She has since acquired several awards and have been recognized by CNN world news.

She has shown great feminine power and added immense values to the society by training miscreants on how to be mechanics.
She also features on NTA channel 10 ‘on the road programme where she lectures and gives tips on vehicle maintenance.
She is the proud founder of Lady mechanic initiative (LMI) a non- profit organization set up to train women in auto-mechanic profession and wealth Creation.
She is known all over the world today for her dogged determination in making headways in areas formerly dominated by men. She cannot be stopped!!
