Meet Olugbade Adekemi, Gifted Nigerian Potter Making Waves In Ceramic industry

Olugbade Adekemi is the founder of Cherry Clay Art, a start up that design and produces ceramics of different forms. She is a fine artist with specialization in ceramic and pottery.

Olugbade Adekemi was born in the 1990s in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. She studied her National Diploma at Polytechnic of Ibadan and she did HND at Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa where she studied Fine Art (Ceramics).

She went for an industrial training after her ND program where she learnt being a potter fully at Atamora and she was taught by Ibukunoluwa Ayoola who is master of potter of Atamora pottery in Ikire.

She was highly inspired because she loves the work since secondary school. She realized she is always happy when making clays.

With 5 years experience in pottery, ceramics and moulding. Her interest in ceramics and pottery was fueled more and more during her Industrial Training attachment at Atamora Pottery, where she learnt about real practical in the ceramics industry which this has really helped her to participate in some art exhibitions.

Olugbade Adekemi’s goal is to be one of the best ceramist in the world, and to make beautiful designs from clay because through this, her works portray a dream-to-life expression, borne out of the desire to create, with originality showing deep Africa sense of belonging incorporated with exquisite modernity, class and finesse.
