Meet Nigeria’s Munir Sada, 9-Year-Old Football Prodigy, Signed By Arsenal FC

Munir Mohammad Sada, a nine-year-old, Nigerian football prodigy has been sign by English Premiership club, Arsenal FC.

Munir Sada hails from Zaria in Kaduna State, was signed to Arsenal Football Kid Academy in London, United Kingdom.

Born to a father from Kaduna and his mother from Katsina, Sada always had a dream of playing football and started even earlier from his primary school.

Munir Sada started playing football as a career right from his primary school and will now play in Arsenal’s kid’s academy according to sources.

In a statement by Abdallah Yunus Abdallah, information officer at the department of public affairs, government house Kaduna, on his Facebook post announced the news.

“Arsenal FC have signed a 9-year-old Nigerian. Munnir Muhammed Sada an indigene of Zaria LG of Kaduna State is expected to be playing for the youth soccer team of Arsenal FC.”

Mr Yunus accompanied his post with pictures of Sada signing papers and also being flanked by Arsenal Academy manager Per Mertesacker in what could be best described as an ‘unveiling’

The Gunners over the years have enjoyed a rich history of Nigerian players and others of Nigerian descent.

From Kanu Nwankwo, who enjoyed a five-year stint at Arsenal; playing over 100 games, to Alex Iwobi who also did well in his own right, winning some silverware, Arsenal ranks high among the most-followed clubs by Nigerians.

The likes of Folarin Balogun, Miguel Azeez, Ryan Alebiosu, Tolaji Bola, Tim Akinola, James Olayinka who are all of Nigerian descent have also shown they can hit it big with the Gunners.

Munnir Sada joined the Arsenal kid’s academy as he signed the contract in the presence of his parents and manager in England.

Sada started playing football from his primary school where he became the best young player in his community, and now he is finally in England to pursue his dreams.

The young prodigy will be wearing jersey number 9 for the young Gunners.

However, no official statement has been issued by Arsenal on the Nigerian resumption to its academy. Though nothing has been confirmed from the English football club, pictures of him signing the contract pictures online have gotten many fans excited.
