Meet Moyinoluwa Adeyemi, inventor of the first watch computed in Yoruba language

Today promises to be a productive Monday! This morning, Temmy Balogun’s blog features a young, creative software engineer who knows her union and strong passion for innovation.
Moyinoluwa Adeyemi who loves to solve problems through technology has recently invented an Android Watch Face whose time is computed in Yoruba language. The innovation is her own way to help re-awaken Yoruba’s dying culture and language among youths.

The young software engineer who’s a co-organizer at Google Builders Group described herself as ‘ a creative person who is passionate about solving problems with technology and enjoys  sharing her knowledge at technical conferences

 

MoyinOluwa, a Computer Science graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, Osun State Nigeria have strong passion for her profession and learns to improve her skills constantly. Her love for continuous learning led to her enrollment in the Android Developer Nanodegree program developed by Udacity in partnership with Google to learn the current best practices in Android Developmen, where she graduated in February 2016.

She presently  works as a Software program Engineer at Swifta System  together with her position as a  co-organizer at Google Builders Group.

She has been opportune to speak at local and international developer events where she gave technical talks on Git, Material Design, Firebase and Android Development. And also a non-technical talk on how to manage university-based Google Developer Groups (GDGs).

She has strong interest in increasing the visibility of women in technology. As regards this, she has so far ensured representation of female speakers and attendees at conferences, she helped organize through the Google Developers Group in Obafemi Awolowo University and Lagos. She also help young girls get started with programming.
