67-year-old man, Hadi Usman, an electronic technician and a gifted innovator based in Jekadafari, Gombe State, Nigeria created a cooking stove that uses water and air pressure to generate fire.

His desire to invent the stove was to subsidize the cost of using kerosene and gas amidst the rise in the price of cooking gas despite the economic hardship in the country.
The gifted Gombe technician has been inventing products since 70s and 80s because he once assembled a radio transmitter and operated a community radio station in Gombe metropolis.
Since the broadcast of his latest invention, He has received over 500 phone calls concerning the project.
Hadi Usman’s wish is that relevant institutions and bodies should support him towards patenting the project for mass production to at least help people without buying kerosene or gas to cook their food by using water.

Hadi Usman’s project has attracted global attention from the US, Germany and other countries amid national recognitions from tertiary institutions across Nigeria but it is yet to be confirmed if Gombe State University, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) will fulfilled their promises to support the inventor after the broadcast of Mr Hadi Usman cooking stove.
Hadi Usman also calls on the federal government of the Republic of Nigeria to assist him in mass-producing his water-powered cooking stove in order to reduce the adverse effects that the rising price of cooking gas has on Nigerians
