Nigerian mediapreneur, Fade Ogunro who is an on-air-personality, film producer and fashion designer is taking over Africa’s media industry through her foundation, Bookings Africa, an online talent service provider in Africa.
From music video, TV Commercial, documentaries and reality TV shows production, Former On-Air-Personality, Fade Ogunro has always been a multi-talented creative.
In 2019 she launched her latest venture BookingsAfrica.com, a pan-African on-demand digital marketplace that allows professionals and service providers from Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa to sell their services and skills online. The platform currently has more than 85,000 users, among which 60% are women.
Bookings Africa’s mission was to unlock the earning potential of young entrepreneurial Africans and monetise their latent skillset. Through the app, users can search for a variety of talent, compare their transparent prices, book online, paysecurely and provide ratings and reviews for services across Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya.
Fade Ogunro hails from Ekiti, Southwest Nigeria. The powerful media personality, Fade’s sojourn into the industry started in the UK where she worked for Google in London, with a background in Journalism, Creative Writing, and Spanish from Roehampton University.
Upon her return to Nigeria, in 2010, she worked for The Beat 99.9 FM radio station. Asides running her own fashion show called Fashion Friday with Fade, this self-proclaimed mediapreneur has successfully produced tv commercials and documentaries for multinationals like Nokia, Airtel, ARM Life Insurance, General Electric, Coco-Cola, Microsoft, Lancome, and MTN; and also produced music videos for some of Nigeria’s popular artistes.
Having worked for PM News, Guardian Newspaper, 234 Next, and of course the Beat 99.9 FM, Fade also currently runs an award-winning video production company called FilmFactoryNG as the head of productions with her brother Sesan who is famous for directing videos for D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Tekno, and more.
Fade Ogunro is an ambitious mediapreneur and innovative problem solver, with goals to impact Africa by increasing digital gig-work and self-sustainable employment.
The Nigerian mediapreneur and CEO of Bookings Africa, Fade Ogunro also successfully put Nigeria on the map with her most recent appointment as a member of the Global Campaign Board for The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, making her the first African and Nigerian woman to become part of the organization’s board.
The Cherie Blair Foundation is set up to help release the potential of women entrepreneurs in low and middle-income countries and close the global gender gap in entrepreneurship.
