An individual who is determined to succeed will overlook the distractions, and negativities around and focus only on the task ahead, just like Afolabi Kazir, an extraordinary student who won two scholarships to study in American University in Cairo and Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for a Master’s Degree.
Kadir was born in a small village in Oyo State of Nigeria to a parent who has 22 children whom none had no tertiary background. He won his first scholarship in Total E & P Scholarship at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State for Undergraduate studies which he came out with a second class upper.
With his result, his chances of gaining a scholarship was reduced but he did not give up. He applied for 10 Scholarship program in March 2017 but only 2 awarded him the scholarship. The scholarship came as a surprise to him because he did not attend the interview due to financial strain.
The second scholarship did not come early which was why he had to decline.
He is presently studying MSC in Sustainable Development, a 2 year Master program which will run from September 2017 to June 2019.
