MCM- Our Man Crush Is Folarin Falana (Falz the BahdGuy)

Our Man crush today is Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz or Falz the BahdGuy. Falz is an entertainer who has managed to combine acting with a musical career  and has achieved success in both.

He does brilliantly well in both fields as he has accolades to prove this, we find this distinct and we celebrate his multitasking skill . It will interest you to know that Falz is the only Nigerian musician with 2 AMVCA awards. And numerous awards to prove an ever green musical career.

In an industry characterized by players who claim football ages, you won’t believe this enigma is just 28 years old as his looks and persona depict an older age. Indeed he is a precocious fellow you will agree.

A graduate of law from Reading University. He later came to Nigeria to attend the Nigeria Law school in Abuja and was subsequently called to bar after passing.

Falz is the son of the renowned human rights activist and Lawyer, Femi Falani. He was born in Mushin, Lagos and had his primary and secondary education in the South-Western part of Nigeria. His primary education was in  St. Leo’s Catholic Primary School, Ikeja and Olashore International School, respectively.

Although Falz started his music career professionally in 2009 but not until 2015 did he begin to enjoy the fruits of his labour.  He entered lime light after he released the visuals to the song he titled “Marry Me” which had a collaboration with Yemi Alade and Poe. This song got him a nomination in the best collaboration category at the Nigerian Entertainment Award (NEA).

The rapper and actor is also a social media sensation who keeps majority of Nigerian Instagram users always staying in tuned to his funny Instagram posts. He has a unique of infusing humour and value in his  songs and we love this about him.  Few months ago he dropped a cover of This is America by Childish Gambino which he titled ‘ This is Nigeria’. The song touched on the vices in Nigeria, though got lots of criticism , the  likes,  views and shares attracted within Africa and international space was  uncountable.

A bold man at heart and one who has a perfect picture of what he exactly wanted in life. He always believed that entertainment was going to pay than being a lawyer. Of course he makes this clear in music.

According to one of his interviews with Vanguard, he revealed that his parents were not totally mad about his decision. They were only shocked because no one in their lineage had a music background. They later grew to encourage him. Wow, such nice parents.

When asked why he chose to be addressed as bad guy, he corrected the word and said- “it is not bad guy but bhad guy” an acronym that stands for Brilliant And Highly Distinct Guy.

He has featured in numerous movies. The most popular is the Jennifa’s diary where he acts as “Shege.”

We must confess, majority is in love with this brilliant Bhad Guy’s character and we are included. This is why we decided to crush on him today.

We are always at the edge of our seats when watching a movie he is being featured in. We wish him all the best in his endeavours.
