Uzoma Dozie is one of Nigeria’s leaders in the financial sector. He is the CEO of Sparkle, a mobile first platform for Nigeria’s retail sector.
He was formerly the CEO of one of Nigeria’s foremost banks, Diamond Bank.
As an experienced financial advisor, economist, technologist and entrepreneur, he has led the way in implementing large-scale technology solutions to drive sustainable economic reform in Africa’s financial services sector, for over twenty years.

In June 2019, he launched Sparkle, a mobile-first platform for Nigeria’s retail sector; driving his vision for using technology to power financial inclusion, at scale, with his extensive background in retail and financial services.
During his tenure at Diamond Bank, he was responsible for overseeing the corporate and commercial arms of the bank, and grew the retail banking arm to 18million customers and oversaw the successful merger with Access Bank in April 2019, resulting in the new institution becoming Africa’s largest bank with 29million customers.

Prior to managing Diamond Bank, he was a financial controller and spearheaded different strategic business units within the organisation.
He also manage the Lagos-based angel investment and mentorship platform, Black-Knights and has been at the heart of Nigeria’s tech start-up ecosystem, founding the Tech Fest event in 2018, connecting industry giants to new markets and providing access-to-market opportunities for small businesses.

He created and hosts tech-focused TV show TechTurks, where he interviews Nigeria’s leading entrepreneurs and digital startups.
He currently serves on the board of Women’s World Banking and is an advocate for financial inclusion, focusing on providing best-of-breed financial and non financial solutions to the millions of un-banked across Africa.

His goal is the need for widespread mobile adoption in the finance sector and is passionate about leveraging technology to play a definitive role in the social development and transformation of the people and businesses on the continent.
