Prominent African-American singer, songwriter, rapper, model and actress Mary J. Blige received First Class Honour in form of a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, January 11, 2017 which was her Birthday.
Blige was honored at the Hollywood Boulevard with a star, in recognition of her outstanding achievements, which was unveiled by Sean Diddy, Andre Harrell and John Lovine at the Hollywood walk of fame ceremony yesterday.
The Grammy award-winning star received this award, amidst cheers of ‘happy birthday’s and is to have her name forever stamped among Hollywood legends.
The dedication of the award was followed by congratulatory speeches from Diddy and Harrell who praised her for her efforts.
“whatever she is going through, she knows she has the responsibility to help others who are going through the same thing. Mary has saved a lot of life especially and a large number of Broken hearts” Sean Diddy, her one time music collaborator said.
In her speech, Blige thanked Daddy and Andre for their roles in her career and her family who were also in attendance.
She went further to state “I am so grateful for this star right now because i have earned it probably three times. I say it with confidence and not arrogance. I say it because I know that now and I know my worth and what it means”
