The person we are crushing on today is talented actor and producer John Adedayo Boyega. Although John wasn’t born in Nigeria, but he didnt forget about his heritage, we love this about him.
The British based actor was born 17 March 1992 in Peckham, South London, England, to British Nigerian parents, Samson Abigail and Adegboyega.
His first role as an actor was a leopard in a play at his primary school. He continued acting in school plays before training at the Peckham Theatre and the Identity Drama School.
In 2011, John Boyega starred as Moses in Joe Cornish’s science-fiction cult hit Attack The Block and starred as Ugwu in Half of a Yellow Sun in 2013.
In 2014, Boyega was cast in the lead role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars sequel trilogy. He has won numerous awards including a Black Reel Award, British Independent Film Award, and a New York Film Academy Award. He has also played a recurring role as Chris Tanner in 24 and Live Another Day.
John Boyega was recently in Nigeria to speak to stakeholders on ways to improve Nollywood because he felt Hollywood is ready for Nigerian stories, he also premiere his recent work as a producer, titled Pacific Rim Uprising, a sequel to Guillermo Del Toro’s 2013 film Pacific Rim.
The film was released in the United States on March 23, 2018, by Universal Pictures and has grossed $290 million worldwide. Lot of people has praised the visual effects and performances of Boyega and Cailee Spaeny. Although still very much single, Boyega is anxiously waiting for his “Miss Nigeria Right”.
