It is a known fact that SME is the back bone of the Nigerian economy and statistics revealed that it has contributed about 54% to the gross domestic product of the country this year.
The vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osibajo recognizes the impact of smes on the country’s economy and has declared an open window until December, 2018 for the registration of more smes at a discount of 50%.
According to the event organizers, they believe that the event will serve as a platform to bring entrepreneurs together. Both established ones and newbies. By so doing, knowledge will be acquired and lesson learned from mistakes of other entrepreneurs.
Collaboration of effort and ideas can also spring up between the attendees as the platform is seen as an opportunity to network.
Certain State governors who are renowned for supporting smes in the country will also be rewarded. Such governors as Akinwunmi Ambode, El Rufai, Nyesom Wike and a host of others.
According to Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, “there is need to engage successful entrepreneurs as well as mentors and trainers, financial institutions and industry partners to promote effective implementation of the Entrepreneurship Development Agenda, through voluntary sharing of experiences and lessons learned”
According to Mr Emmanuel Ezima, CEO of Emvirtue, the conference will provide opportunities to network, share knowledge on policies, industry trends and business strategies.
There will also be discussions on the many ways the government can promote growth and efficiency in the SME sector.
