Let’s Learn From Mo Abudu’s Grit, Consistency and Success

There are two indicators for success that should not be underrated and they are GRIT and CONSISTENCY and one woman who has applied these two indicators and we can see its effect today is Mo Abudu.

Mosunmola Abudu popular as Mo Abudu is a Nigerian media mogul and the founder of EbonyLife Tv. Over the years, she has moved from being a Human Resource Management personnel. How was the switch possible?

Earlier in her life, she had been employed by a consulting firm in London and sometime in 2009 she had her first foray into the entertainment industry when she launched a reality TV show called The Debaters; one to encourage oratory.

If she had wanted something in her comfort zone, then she may have perhaps settled for consultancy but constantly pushing herself to do more despite the many challenges and breaking through an entire industry with her craft is infact a motivation.

Mo’s passion for telling the African Story did not die as she kept doing her work whether she got the needed attention or not.

Thereafter she began a platform called Inspire Arica, here she focused on celebrating African culture, traditions, and diversity.

Her first reality TV show metamorphosed into another show which she named Moments with Mo.

The popular EbonyLife launched in 2014 and since then it’s been churning out amazing movies back-to-back. The aim for EbonyLife was the creation of unique films for Nigerian Enthusiasts. In 2015, EbonyLife made a debut release of the movie Fifty and has gone ahead to produce other movies like Royal Hibiscus, Chief Daddy, Oloture.

The big break came in 2019, when Netflix reached a deal with her to bring two classic movies to life which could be streamed all over the world.

A story that started from having a passion to tell the African story the right way, imagine if she had not pursued entertainment, imagine if she had not given it her best, we will not have some of the finest movies we have now.

Staying true to her passion, consistently delivering quality and excellence, has been Mo

Abudu’s hallmark.
