Education really is important. A nation that prioritises education reaps immense benefits, especially in the areas of science and technology. So it is in the case of a SSS1 student of Anglican Grammar School Ogbomoso whose contraption has gone viral.
The student is credited with building a prototype car from scratch using bathroom slippers and broomsticks. As good as this might sound, that is not the real story. The boy not only built the prototype, he built a powerbank that would power it. Now, that is brilliant.
Though the funding is usually not available for such brilliant minds, making sure more people get an education would ensure more of such things are created. We just might educate that mind in which the cure for cancer is.
