The Central Bank of Kenya’s Governor Patrick Njorge has been recognized as the African Central Banker of the year 2018 by the prestigious ‘The Banker Magazine’, an international, UK based publication.
For his positive efforts in cleaning up Kenya’s financial sector, Njorge has been honored with a continental award as the Central Banker of the year, making it the third international award he would be clinching since his ascent into the office of the CBK governor in 2015.

“since being adopted as Central Bank governor in July 2015, he has acted swiftly to clean up the country’s banking sector, improve supervision and guidance measures and spearhead efforts to position Kenya as a hub for green finance” it said.
The Banker Magazine, a publication by the Financial Times Group which are also in charge of The Financial Times newspaper, usually give the Central Banker Of The Year Award to exceptional officials that have impacted on the economy positively by helping to stimulate it’s growth and stability.
In May 2016, not long after after his ascent to office, Njorge was recognised as the Central Bank governor of the year at the African Banker award and also received the Global markets Central Bank Governor of the Year award for Sub-saharan Africa later that same here.
For his positive achievements in stimulating the growth of the Kenyan economy, the international recognition was rightly earned.
Congratulations Patrick Njorge! We Celebrate You!
