Jamaica Partners With Nigeria’s Nollywood

Jamaica’s Motion Picture Industry is seeking to collaborate with Nollywood, Nigerian High Commissioner to Jamaica, Janet Olisa has revealed. It has been said that Nollywood is widely accepted by the Jamaicans because of the way in which the story and culture is being portrayed.

The Executive Director of NFVCB, Mr. Adebayo Thomas and his team on the 7th of July were visited by Olisa to further discuss partnership. It seems the Nollywood have made such impact to the Jamaicans that they want to tap from the rich ingenuity abound through collaborations in Acting, Production and Marketing.

Olisa explained how she has been to the Censor Board to seek its partnership and support as the key government agency in charge of the Motion Picture Sector in Nigeria. She added that through verification, classification and licensing mechanism of the board, piracy and other related issues would be handled for a mutually beneficial business relationship between the two countries.

While speaking, Adebayo Thomas in Abuja expressed his delight in the High Commissioner towards the portrayal of Nollywood, pledging their support to the board.
