Innoson vehicle manufacturing company limited, a local enterprise owned by Chief Innocent Chukwuma has just unveiled the first made-in-Nigeria SUVs, a first of its kind in the nation.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the company’s manufacturing plant at No2. Innoson industrial estate, Akwu-uru, uru Umudim Nnewi in Anambra state on Monday, December 11, 2017.
The new brands of SUVs includes Innoson IVM G80, Innoson IVM G40, Innoson IVM G20, and 4×4 pick-up-innoson IVM Granite, all built from models of other successful brands, including Hyundai and Nissan.

The event was attended by dignitaries including the Olowu of Iwa land, Obama Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Emperor Telu1,captains of industries and delegates from the federal and state government.
It is quite interesting to note that 70percent of the parts used in assembling the cars were from locally sourced materials.
The emergence of this company is a first of its kind in the nation and is already being patronised by the country’s citizens. Plans to take the brand to neighboring countries have been made and is guaranteed to serve the region.
The Nigerian minister of trade and investment Oluwasegun Aganga in his speech commended the company on its effort towards improving the economy, stating that such investment is a great step towards expanding the contry’s manufacturing sector.
