The increasing growth of technology has led to the rise of several innovative solutions in Africa and beyond, one of which is an app that curbs traffic which was created by Naledi Phafane, a 15-year-old South African girl, this innovation will surely be useful in many countries, my country Nigeria is leading on that list.
The native of Moreleta Park in Pretoria who developed an app to reduce traffic jams in 2018 recently won the 100,000 Rand Grand Prize for this innovative application.
Naledi revealed that “The mobile app reduces traffic jams in major cities that face many traffic problems. ”
Since then, Phafane has established herself as a successful young entrepreneur by launching her businesses. She is the founder of Spectrum and the co-founder of VulaRobot and Moval.
“I have always had an interest in business, which has driven me to take part in business contests,” she told Pretoria East Rekord.
However, the traffic jam application is not the only mobile application developed by Phafane. She has also designed an application to solve the proof of residence problems in South Africa.
“We designed an application that will use GPS to confirm a person’s residence,” she said.
