Hilda Effiong Bassey, widely known as Hilda Baci, is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, excelling as a TV producer, YouTube Content Creator, actress, foodprenuer, and TV presenter. She has gained immense recognition for her exceptional homemade recipes.
Originally from Awka Ibom State, Hilda Baci was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She pursued her higher education at Madonna University Okija, Anambra State, where she focused on Sociology. In her family, she has a brother and a sister, sharing a close bond with them.
As the visionary behind “My Food by Hilda,” Hilda Baci established a premium restaurant and delivery service specializing in African and continental dishes.
Her culinary expertise stems from her mother’s influence, igniting her passion for cooking. This passion propelled her into the realm of television, starting with her own cooking segment titled “In my Kitchen” on Rave TV’s Morning Rave breakfast show. Hilda Baci further showcased her hosting talents on Pop Central TV’s “Dine on A Budget,” where she engaged celebrities in insightful discussions while treating them to an exquisite dining experience.
Since 2020, Hilda Baci’s brand has experienced remarkable growth, establishing itself as one of the most renowned foodpreneurs in Nigeria. Adding to her list of achievements, she proudly clinched the title of JollofFaceoff 2021 winner.
Hilda’s unwavering determination and tireless efforts bore fruit when she inaugurated her inaugural high-end fast-food restaurant in June 2022, catering to a vast clientele. In addition to her culinary prowess, she has also displayed her acting talent through various movies and soap operas, most notably Dream Chaser, which garnered a nomination for Best Movie at the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
Chef Baci’s rise to fame was further propelled by her ambitious pursuit of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time, which garnered significant attention and acclaim.
As a compassionate humanitarian, Hilda firmly believes in the importance of providing well-prepared meals to all. During the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, she took it upon herself to offer over 3,000 meals to underprivileged communities, making a positive social impact. Moreover, she has trained more than 2,500 students in the culinary arts, generously rewarding the best-performing individuals with prizes and incentives.
Hilda on the 11th of May, 2023 embarked on a journey to break the Guiness Worrld Record for the longest cooking time, which she surpassed at 7:45am on May 15th, 2023. The former record hold had cooked for 87:45 minutes cumulatively, which Hilda has now surpassed.
