Getting admitted into the university can be very tedious but this is not enough reason to commit suicide as things can still turn out well with persistence, just as it did for Courtney.
Courtney Danielle Boateng, who is now a as a successful YouTuber and beauty blogger once tried to take life in 2015, after she failed to get into any of the universities she applied to but she is now a graduate.
Daniella was raised in North London to two Ghanaian Immigrants. Despite achieving A’s and A*’s in High School, Courtney did not have her eyes set on the top five universities in the UK, believing that it would be almost impossible for a black girl from a north London estate who attended a state comprehensive school, to be accepted into such traditional and elite institutions. However, upon encouragement from her parents and her peers, Courtney applied and gained admission to the University of Cambridge to read Human, Social and Political Sciences.
She was lucky to be among the lucky 12 applicant to be admitted into the University of Cambridge out of 54 Applicants.
Courtney took to her twitter page to express how grateful she is. She wrote:
“February 2015 I tried to take my own life. I thought I had thrown away all my chances of getting A*AA, getting into any university, and even living. But God made a way. 3 years later, this North London Estate girl is a Graduate of the University of Cambridge. Next stop the World.”
Although life wasn’t a bed of roses for her in the University as the level of racism was very high, Daniella did not allow that to weigh her down as she continued to press forward. Apart from being a Youtuber and a Blogger, Daniella is also into hair making and designing. Daniella is certainly setting herself to become a successful entrepreneur.
