What if I tell you that there’s nothing as fulfilling as going all out for your passion? A clear confirmation to this statement is the story of Udoka Uju, the founder of ‘The Lady Painter’ who dropped her banking profession for the profession she is very passionate about, painting.
The Lady Painter is Nigeria’s first Female Painter offering commercial painting services for residential and commercial spaces, from 3D Visuals to implementation of the paint design with emphasis on detail and quality.
How It All Started…
While working at a bank two years ago, Udoka Uju discovered strong passion for painting, and started working on developing it till got her balance. This passion of hers stood her out among Nigerian entrepreneurs for exceeding expectations in a male dominated field. Her brand, The Lady Painter, has been capable for beautifying a huge amount of homes and workplaces around Nigeria.

Her Schools Painting Project
Late last year, Udoka launched the Grab a brush, Colour a life project – which involves renovating and painting poorly-kept public schools within any local community in Nigeria, with the aim of giving the kids a more conducive learning environment. Speaking on her website about what inspired the project, Udoka sai

“What led to this initiative is the desire to inspire lives positively using colors and patterns. The goal of the each project is to beautify, giving our children a better learning experience, a colorful school environment and the opportunity to properly lead tomorrow.
Besides beautifying the schools, the project also provides information to the teachers and students on everything from basic health safety to the dangers of climate change”.
