Art Meets Tech: Nigeria’s Onyinye Anyaegbu Builds App for Art Collectors

Onyinye Anyaegbu is the CEO of ARTSPLIT, an app designed for art collectors who are looking to sell their craft seamlessly.

Onyinye said that the solution is a timely answer to an issue most collectors face. She could trace the origin of the idea to her brother who had just started his art journey and got introduced to being a collector and was enjoying it as a great investment.

This propelled her to build the platform for people who are like her brother.

Her platform- ARTSPLIT, is an art trading platform for African Art that is providing art collectors with a way to get more from their works by providing them the platform and opportunity to own shares which can also be described as shares of these artworks and which can in turn be traded by collectors.

With this app, the community of collectors are given the flexibility of either coownershup or full ownership of the art works for a period of time.

An art auction took place an dit was called ARTSPLIT MOCONA and five Nigerian artists took part in it. At the end, the contemporary arts auction bid was about $57.000 with an average growth of 14%.
