80- Year-Old Donzella Washington Is Oldest Woman To Graduate From Alabama A&M University

History was made when 80-year-old Donzella Washington emerged as the oldest person to have ever graduated from Alabama A&M University.

She not only graduated but graduated well with distinction.

Records have it that she graduated magna cum l’Aude with a GPA of 3.69.

She dedicated her achievement to her late husband who she says had always been supportive of her.

Remarkable is the fact that, while growing up Donzella had a speech difficulty which made her stammer terribly. However, at the age of 30, she took about four speech classes at the College of the Sequoias which made her speech inprove greatly thereafter.

Having a speech difficulty, made her have little patience and confidence.

As time progressed, she gained admission into college at an older age.

Donzella at an interview was reported to have said that “I want to inspire and motivate others that age is not a barrier, and I want to emphasize the life between the dash.”

She continually mentions that her motivation is her late husband. She stated that he pushed her to do more.

This should inspire you too that it is never too late to pursue that dream.
