24 year old Rufai Omeiza Aliyu has just bagged a first class from the department of mass communication, Bayero University, Kano, emerging the third student to attain this feat in the history of the department.
Born on April 25, 1993, the Okene eba in Okene Local government area of Kogi state, Aliyu graduated with a first class, joining ranks with two others, Alhassan Ado Doguwa who bagged a first class in 1990 and Victor Olunloye in 2010, whose names would forever be remembered as a memorable history of the department.
After losing his father at the tender age of 6,the genius, together with his mother had to struggle from hand to mouth to survive and he in turn decided to crown her efforts and sleepless nights with these great achievement.
Upon hearing the news, the emotion-laden Aliyu said
“I dedicate my success to God almighty who has been my strength all through my academic pursuit so far. I must admit it was tough but through perseverance, hard work and prayers I was able to achieve my goal which has always been first class from day one”.
His level coordinator Dr Ashir Ashir stated that he had been monitoring his progress steadily after he bagged a 5.0 in 100 level. He further commended him on his great feat and for upholding the honor of the department.
“Omeiza is highly intelligent, a book worm, a genius that is highly conscious of his background and I am not surprised he joined the exclusive ranks of mass communication graduates at the end of his program” he said.
