15 Year Old Boko Haram Survivor Becomes Youngest Player At 2018 African Nations Championships

15 year old Nigerian boy and book haram survivor , Mohammed Nur has emerged the youngest player at the African Nations championships, CHAN, following his entrance as a substitute in the group C clash against Rwanda.

Born on the 2nd of December, 2002, the Nigerian number 20 player who is not part of the team to complete the list, but with His on his side is already playing his way towards a successful career.

The left footed striker started out on the streets like other young players before he was recognized and picked up by the coaches of El Kanemi Warriors. With just one year experience at the sport, the newbie who once played among the U-17 for the club displayed outstanding traits of excellence which attracted and caught the attention of the Nigerian national coach, Yusuf Salisu who invited him to join the team for CHAN.

In an interview, the emotion laden number 20 player said “honestly I did not expect this. I started my career a year ago and I am already playing in a major tournament like the CHAN. While playing in my neighborhood, I didn’t expect that one day I would be an international and Don the national colors”.

The Nigerian coach, Yusuf Salisu had lots of good things to say about this young player, “he is very intelligent, talented and has lots of potential. I made the decision to pick him for the CHAN. For me, this player is the future of Nigeria. He would be a star in the next few years. Being 15 did not stop me from selecting him, backed by his talent. He is a player who can do a lot with the ball”.

The young footballer also played in the last quarter of the Nigerian match against Equatorial guinea when he replaced Emeka Ogbugh and led the team to a 2-1 victory.
